We at Nomad Anglers have helped thousands of anglers get into the sport of fly fishing. Whether you need help tying a blood knot, casting your first fly rod or tying a "Gartside Gurgler", we have the knowledge and know how to assist you. We hope to continue to enhance our Education section to help answer your fly fishing questions. All of our Fly Fishing 101 classes cover equipment rigging, basic knot tying, basic entomology, fly casting and fly selection. We will provide all of your equipment. (Bring your own if you have it) 9am or 1pm sessions available. If you would like to attend a class PLEASE CONTACT THE SHOP VIA EMAIL TO RSVP a spot. Private Casting Instruction - $50 per hour (2 students)

Walk-In Instructional - $175 4 hours (1-2 students)
Once you have learned some basic techniques the next step is to get out on the water and use your new skills. We offer beginner and advanced Instructionals. Most of our instructionals occur on the Rogue, Flat or Grand River. Please contact the shop to RSVP a spot. EMAIL (Year Round)
Guided Fly Fishing Trips
1/2 Day Trip - $275 4-5 hours (1-2 anglers) refreshments and gear provided.
Full Day Trip - $350 8 hours (1-2 anglers) streamside lunch and gear provided.
We specialize in Warm-Water Smallmouth Bass trips from April - September but also can set you up to chase Trout, Salmon & Steelhead Up-North with a professional guide. Most of our Warm-Water trips take place on the Grand River near Portland, MI. Please contact the shop to RSVP a spot. EMAIL (Year Round)
Our basic fly tying class covers everything you will need to know to get started with fly tying. Our class meets from 12-5pm at the store and all of the tools and materials are provided. Please contact the shop to RSVP a spot. EMAIL
12 am – 4 pm limited to 6 individuals. All tools and materials provided.
Learn all the basic techniques for streamers, nymphs and dry flies. If you cannot make it to one of the scheduled group classes we offer private fly tying lessons for $50 an hour (2 people add $25 each additional).
